Role Summary
The Production Executive [ Sira/Tumkur] will be responsible for end-to-end supervision of the Indian sweets manufacturing line at the Bidadi plant. You will ensure smooth daily production operations, maintain quality and hygiene standards, manage the line workforce, and support the Plant Manager in meeting output targets. This is a hands-on, floor-level leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
- Supervise daily production of Indian Confectionery as per production schedule
- Monitor batch processing, cooking, moulding, cooling, and packing stages for quality adherence
- Ensure line efficiency targets (output per shift, wastage norms, downtime) are met consistently
- Coordinate with stores for timely raw material issuance and track consumption vs. standard BOM
- Ensure shift handover is documented and pending tasks are communicated clearly
Quality & Food Safety
- Enforce GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and FSSAI hygiene standards across the production area
- Conduct in-process quality checks (weight, texture, moisture, visual) and document results
- Report non-conformances to QA immediately and initiate corrective action
- Ensure all equipment, utensils, and work surfaces are sanitised as per SOP
- Support internal and external food safety audits
Team Management
- Manage a team of 15–25 production workers / helpers on shift
- Assign tasks, monitor attendance, and ensure optimal manpower utilisation
- Train new joiners on SOPs, machine handling, hygiene protocols, and safety
- Maintain discipline and a positive work environment on the floor
- Coordinate with HR for attendance, overtime, and any IR concerns
Machine & Equipment Oversight
- Ensure all production equipment (cookers, mixers, moulding machines, packaging lines) are operated correctly and per SOP
- Identify and escalate maintenance issues proactively to the Engineering team
- Maintain equipment logs, cleaning records, and preventive maintenance checklists
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain daily production reports, shift logs, wastage records, and batch records
- Report production vs. plan variance to Plant Manager with root cause and corrective action
- Update and maintain all required documentation for traceability and compliance
Candidate Profile
Must Have
- 3–5 years of production floor experience in a food manufacturing unit (mithai / sweets / bakery / confectionery preferred)
- Working knowledge of GMP, FSSAI food safety regulations, and HACCP basics
- Ability to read and implement production SOPs and batch records
- Hands-on experience managing a team of 15+ workers
- Willingness to work rotational shifts including early mornings and weekends
Good to Have
- Experience specifically in traditional Indian sweets / mithai production at commercial scale
- Familiarity with ERP-based production tracking (SAP, Tally, or similar)
- Basic knowledge of Lean / 5S practices
- ISO 22000 / FSMS awareness
Education
- Diploma / B.Sc. / B.Tech in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, or related field preferred
- ITI / Diploma holders with strong relevant experience will also be considered
Language
- Kannada (mandatory for floor communication)
- Hindi / English (for reporting and documentation)
